Bernardston Select Board finalizes electricity aggregation, previews open-to-the-public van service. The board unanimously approved final terms of the town's Community Choice Power Supply Program, running since 2014, and heard from Franklin Regional Transit Authority Administrator Tina Cody that a federal grant, after the agency sought $10 million and received $3 million, will fund a four-to-five-year pilot opening senior demand-response vans to general-public riders this fall for a $3 fare. The board also approved warrants of $79,920.67 and $219,816.83, including a $182,132 CDBG disbursement, and heard Town Administrator Lou report a $40,000 hazard mitigation grant, a $170,640 unpaved-roads grant for Keatsbrook and Fox Hill roads, and a Cannabis Control Commission compliance warning.
State representative candidate Sabra Billings told the board, "They need to increase UGA back where it was and trust municipalities to do the right thing."
