Bernardston Select Board ends tree dispute, previews $226M tech school vote. The board voted to proceed with Tree Warden Brad Bordereke's existing contractor quote to clear hazardous deadwood in Cushman Park after months of delay with the volunteer Cushman Hall Committee over who held authority to approve the work. Franklin County Tech School Committee representative Brad Stafford told the board Bernardston's share of the roughly $226 million building project is just over $4 million over 30 years, about $227.83 per household annually, ahead of the October 6 special election.
The board also heard Town Hall repairs could cost nearly $1.5 million, agreed to form a study committee, and appointed Sarah Brown-Anson town clerk effective October 1. "There's at least one very large branch dangling from one of the trees," Bordereke said.
